Blues on the Radio: The PCMH program and how to ‘Win by Losing’ in August
This month, our ever-expanding Patient Centered Medical Home program is top of mind at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and within the radio network. The Blues’ PCMH program has expanded to more than 3,000 designated physicians at nearly 1,000 practices statewide, remaining the largest medical home program in the nation for the fourth year in a row.
The Healthier Michigan Radio Show
We’ll be talking about how the PCMH program is improving patient health outcomes, strengthening the doctor-patient relationship and lowering costs all this month on The Healthier Michigan Radio Show.
The guests on the PCMH-themed radio show this month include some real PCMH experts. Guests include:
- Dr. David Share, vice president and assistant chief medical officer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
- Dr. Kim Coleman, pediatrician at Pediatric Specialists of Bloomfield Hills
- Ewa Matuszewski, CEO of Medical Network One
Dr. Share says on the show, “We have a team at Blue Cross that’s really helping to work with the provider community to transform the system to be better for patients.” He goes on to say, “There’s an incredible amount of communication that goes on now in these new systems. This leads to less redundant testing and is saving patients a lot of worry, time, travel and money.”
The hour-long show will be available online or as a podcast after Aug. 7, or be sure to tune in to it on the air on the following stations:
Andrew Hetzel, BCBSM’s vice president of Corporate Communications, joins the familiar voice of Dan Dickerson each Sunday throughout August on the Detroit Tigers Radio Network. This month Hetzel discusses Win by Losing, which kicks off its seventh round on Aug. 27. This weight-loss competition has proven itself to be an effective team-building challenge among BCBSM group customers. Andrew will also focus on PCMH and innovative products offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network.
Michigan’s Big Show starring Michael Patrick Shiels
