Nov. 1, 2016, marks the beginning of the 2017 Open Enrollment Period (OEP). This is the window when individuals and families can enroll in a new health plan or renew their coverage for next year. While open enrollment runs through Jan. 31, 2017, you need to enroll before Dec. 19, 2016 for your coverage to begin on Jan.1, 2017. If you don’t enroll in a plan by the end of OEP, and you don’t have other coverage, you might get hit with a fine. That said, Blue Cross is here to help answer your questions and offer one-on-one support. Read on for details on walk-in centers, extended hours and how to sign-up for coverage that fits your life and budget. From now through February, all walk-in centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use the walk-in centers to talk to an agent in-person about your coverage options or set up your coverage for 2017. Just enter your zip code here to find the nearest location. Walk-in centers are also offering extended hours on specific days, which can be found here. If you’d rather speak to someone over the phone, you can give us a call at 1-855-237-3501 to discuss your plan options. The lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
