Over the decades since the 1980s, when Blue Cross consolidated four regional HMOs into Blue Care Network, and the 1990s, when we acquired Accident Fund from the State of Michigan, we’ve had a tremendous track record of working with our wholly-owned subsidiaries to deliver value to our members and solutions to improve health care within Michigan and elsewhere. Today, we are very pleased to welcome another subsidiary company to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan enterprise. ikaSystems is Massachusetts-based provider of enterprise, cloud-based business process and automation solutions for payers. BCBSM is already a major customer of ikaSystems. Our new relationship will position that company for further growth, delivering new capabilities and services across all lines of business that serve health plans across the country. Over the past several years, ikaSystems has proven its ability to deliver flexible and innovative solutions – particularly to us at BCBSM. While its ownership has changed, ikaSystems’ current management team and employees will continue their work unencumbered by that change. As an independent subsidiary of BCBSM, the company will have the management flexibility to continue to serve its customers with even more capacity and rigor.
