An updated website makes it easier than ever for grant applicants to apply for funding from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation. The new design also showcases the impact that foundation funding has on communities across the state. “We want our diverse stakeholders to be able to find what they need on the site, but we also wanted to be able to share our successes,” said Audrey Harvey, vice president, BCBSM Foundation. Foundation staff worked with the BCBSM Digital Experience team to complete the overhaul. “Our goal was to refresh and redesign the foundation site in a way that made it easy for users, especially those seeking more information about our grant programs, to navigate the site and find the information they were looking for, said Melissa Leger, product owner, Digital Experience Public/Retail Web Team. The redesign was a success, especially for people seeking grants. Now, they can complete the process online. “We’ve gotten great feedback that the site is way easier to use, and people like that our grant applications are online,” Harvey said. The nonprofit BCBSM Foundation was launched in 1980 with $800,000. Three years later, the foundation received $19.2 million from Michigan doctors to help advance its mission. Today, it oversees about $60 million in assets. The foundation supports diverse research and projects, including efforts to control the rising costs of health care. Its grants have helped improve patient safety, quality of care and access to care for Michigan residents.
