Did you know that men spend an average of three minutes per day shaving? That’s 18 hours of grooming time every year! Yet, nationally, about 40% of men don't invest the one or two hours needed to get their annual physical. That’s why Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is partnering with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Jay's Sporting Goods, Otsego Memorial Hospital and MidMichigan Health to encourage hunters to set their sights on better health, just in time for the state’s firearm hunting season. Stop by the Gaylord or Clare Jay’s Sporting Goods locations on Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Staff from both hospitals will offer free blood pressure and body composition checks on a first come, first served basis. Participants can learn simple exercises to help prepare for the physical demands of being out in the woods and free flu shots will be provided by Alana's Foundation. Attendees will also be eligible for prizes, like a Yeti Panga backpack and Stormy Kromer hats, as well as other free giveaways. What do you do to stay healthy during hunting season? Tell us in the comments. If you liked this post, you might also enjoy:
