The fourth annual Detroit Riverfront Run sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will be held on June 10, 2017. This 5K and 10K run/walk showcases the Detroit RiverWalk and Dequindre Cut, and provides a healthy and fun experience for participants of all ages. New this year, participants can also register for the virtual race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. Run, jog or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or track, or any place you choose. Virtual race participants can run at their own pace and time the race themselves. The Riverfront Conservancy will ship virtual race participants a medal, bib and shirt directly to your home.
Proceeds benefit the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, the stewards of the Detroit RiverWalk and Dequindre Cut Greenway. All pre-registered participants will receive a performance tech t-shirt, commemorative race medal and one day admission pass to the GM River Days. Race day features live DJ, water and post-race snack station and much more. Plus, there are prizes for the top participants in each age group. The 10K race will begin at 8:40 a.m. and the 5K begins and 9 a.m. Free parking will be available to all race participants at a riverfront location near the race start and finish. Early Bird Registration per person is $30 for the 5K and $40 for the 10k, if registered by May 9. Registration will increase to $35 for the 5K and $45 for the 10K after this date.
