Last summer, Linda and Ron Yetsko of Algonac, Michigan, received notification that their plan rates would increase. As with many members, the Yetskos were worried about the future of their coverage and whether or not they’d be able to still afford it. That’s when their daughter, Lisa, a Blue Cross employee, encouraged them to speak with the customer service team and learn about options that would fit their needs. After one call, the Yetskos had a new plan and peace of mind. “We were so impressed with the Blue Cross representative,” says Linda. “She steered us toward a plan that met our needs and saved us $52 a month. It was clear that the representative was more interested in our well-being than simply making a sale.” Ron had already signed up for coverage with a different company; however, his conversation with the customer service representative helped him decide to return to his Blue Cross plan. “I’ve been with Blue Cross for more than four years and have never had a problem,” says Ron. “I’ve since shared the customer service number with four of my friends and know that two of those people have also signed up with new Blue Cross plans.” Linda and Ron encourage current and potential members to be proactive and reach out to Blue Cross customer service to talk through their coverage options.
