As Michigan’s largest health insurer, our members are the reason our employees get out of bed in the morning and get to work. Every day, we look for ways to improve our members' experience, make processes easier, and ultimately provide a more understandable health care plan to each and every member. That is why we’re extremely proud to announce that Insure.com recently named Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan the best health insurer in the state and the second best health insurance company in the nation, following Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. The rankings were based on responses of more than 4,000 U.S. insurance customers about the best companies for car, life, health and home insurance. “Health insurance is a changing industry today, but the BCBS companies seem to be navigating this landscape better than some other insurers today, at least as far as their customers are concerned,” said Penny Gusner, consumer analyst for Insure.com. Blue Cross earned five stars in customer service, four stars in claims processing, four stars in value for price and four and a half stars overall in the survey. An amazing 94 percent of member respondents said they plan to renew their plans in the coming year, and nearly a quarter said they already recommended Blue Cross to someone else. We were also honored with a “People’s Choice Award” by the site. While we’re obviously thrilled at these honors, we feel even better knowing they are based on member feedback. Our members' experience is one of the most important ways we measure success. Between our customer call centers, walk-in centers, social channels and online forms, we’re proud to know that our teams are continuing to provide helpful, detailed information to our members. We look forward to continuing to improve and provide an even better health care experience. Do you want to see how else we strive to improve the customer experience? Check out these blogs:
