Every 80 seconds, a woman dies of cardiovascular disease or stroke. The good news is, the American Heart Association reports that 80 percent of all heart-related events may be prevented by healthy lifestyle changes and education. For February, The Healthier Michigan Radio Show discussed everything from what defines heart disease, to what can be done in everyday life to help prevent it. The full list of guests for the February Healthier Michigan Radio show includes:
  • Dr. Jann Caison-Sorey, associate medical director at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
  • Grace Derocha, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
  • Dr. George S. Kipa, deputy chief medical officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
Listen in below to hear the full show and don’t forget to tune in to WJR on the first Tuesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. to hear the show live. Photo Credit: barnimages.com
