Blue Care Network’s MyChoice Wellness plan continues to gain popularity among Medicare beneficiaries in Kent, Oceana and Muskegon counties. This BCN Advantage HMO plan was created last year when Blue Care Network and Mercy Health partnered to deliver a very competitively priced product to the over-65 population seeking affordable, quality health care. MyChoice Wellness, designed for Medicare-eligible individuals not covered by employer plans, is now BCN’s fastest growing Medicare Advantage plan in Kent, Muskegon and Oceana. “Each day roughly 300 people in Michigan turn 65 and become Medicare eligible, which translates into 110,000 people annually. Each of these individuals has unique health and financial needs,” said Julie Smith, vice president, Senior Business at BCBSM. “MyChoice Wellness was developed for individuals willing to trade broad network access for a quality local network and a lower-cost insurance premium.” Medicare Advantage plans can combine products and services into one package —and by buying the package; individuals can find savings and a seamless shopping experience. MyChoice Wellness is a cost-effective, local plan that provides the complete package of Medicare benefits. “Mercy Health provides a unique care experience to members in the MyChoice Wellness product,” said Mary Boyd, regional vice president netowrk and system development for Mercy Health. “Patients are highly involved in care decisions, and with their physician, develop an individualized care plan. Our goal is to always improve the health of our patients and their experience with us." The BCN Advantage HMO MyChoice Wellness plan is among 10 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network Medicare Advantage plans available for seniors to enroll beginning October 15. BCN Advantage is an HMO and HMO-POS plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in BCN Advantage depends on contract renewal. Members must be entitled to Medicare Part A and enrolled in Part B. Enrolled members must use BCN Advantage network providers for routine care.
