The award recognizes BCBSM’s longstanding commitment to inclusive diversity as a corporate leader providing a great work culture with opportunities for leadership development for all leaders with an emphasis on women and people of color. Blue Cross also was recognized in the Top 10 Best in Class Category for Representation and Accountability. The category takes into account both the representation of women and people of color in leadership roles and their advancement into senior leadership roles. Other companies in the Representation and Inclusion category include Bank of America, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and Xerox. Disability Equality Index Blue Cross scored 90 out of a possible 100 points on the U.S. Business Leadership Network Disability Equality Index. The DEI® is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities and the U.S. Business Leadership Network. A national benchmarking tool, it scores businesses on a scale of zero to 100 on their disability inclusion policies and practices.
