DETROIT, November 29, 2023 - A formal tentative Master Labor Agreement was reached today between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network and the United Auto Workers. The formalization comes after a verbal agreement was attained on November 28 after several phone calls between BCBSM President and CEO Daniel J. Loepp and UAW International President Shawn Fain.
The 3 ½ year agreement covers approximately1,360 Blue Cross and Blue Care Network employees represented by the UAW and runs from Sept. 1, 2023, through May 1, 2027.
We are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement that is a culmination of months of discussions. We have an agreement that provides competitive wages and benefits, while ensuring the company maintains reasonable administrative costs into the future. We are hopeful that the agreement will be ratified.
BCBSM is not commenting further while ratification is underway.
