Loepp: Remain Vigilant About Stopping Spread of Virus During Holidays
Pandemic-related illnesses and hospitalizations are surging at record levels across the country, and many hospitals and health care providers are at or beyond capacity. While the plans for vaccine distribution are promising, this battle is far from over. Tragically, Michigan has endured more than 11,000 deaths related to COVID-19.
This holiday season, please remain vigilant so we can protect the health of our frontline workers whose continued sacrifices keep our country functioning and protect our friends, families and communities.
It’s critical that we unite to reduce the spread of this deadly virus. Listen to the experts about limiting gatherings. Practice social distancing. Remember to wear a mask. Stay 6 feet apart. These simple steps can prevent even more tragedies.
Thank you for all you are doing to help stop the spread. I wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy holiday season.
Daniel J. Loepp is president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
