Is BCBSM looking at what millennials eat who suffer from major depression? There was a study published recently that showed changing to a healthier diet may help with depression symptoms. Those in the study who had a healthier diet ate: * 2-3 servings of fruit per day, * 5 servings of vegetables per day, * 3 servings of whole grains per day, * 3 servings of lean protein per day, * 3 servings of unsweetened dairy per day, * 3 tablespoons of nuts and seeds per day, * 2 tablespoons of olive oil per day and * 3 servings per week of fish. Here is a link to an article discussing the study, published in the journal PLOS ONE: https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2019/10/09/768665411/changing-your-diet-can-help-tamp-down-depression-boost-mood.
