Our mission at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has always been the health and care of our customers and members. We work hard to continually improve their access to quality and affordable care, and provide them with the help to manage their health conditions and health care costs. Blue Care Network is an integral component of our enterprise — and a key contributor to all we've achieved in 2019. As a nonprofit health maintenance organization, BCN supported our collective efforts by expanding and improving our product options, while decreasing costs for our customers and members. And, just as important, the organization delivered greater positive, personalized customer and member experiences, helping them understand their HMO plans along the health care journey. BCN demonstrated unquestionable dedication to our members, our mission and health care quality every day in 2019, and, more recently, during the coronavirus pandemic. The BCN team reinforced our efforts by fully covering COVID-19 testing, offering no-cost telehealth medical visits, waiving authorization processes and expanding prescription refills, all to ensure Michigan’s HMO members received the care they needed during this unprecedented time. That type of commitment is why people turn to us. We’re here for them — and we keep them at the center of everything we do to provide quality health care options.
